Meet Our Accepted Students
“I decided to pursue VFX, the art of creating something from nothing, together with SF Film School.”

Shin Su Bin
My serious interest in the 3D field began when I started double majoring in furniture design and learned the Rhino program through self-study. Although it is quite different from VFX, I found the process of creating something from nothing in a virtual space and building an object with my own hands extremely fascinating.
At first, I only intended to learn Rhino as preparation for one of the 3D tools required for my double major. However, I ended up enjoying it much more than I expected. After finishing my Rhino studies, I began seriously learning Blender on my own, and through that process I discovered the field of visual graphics.
While learning Blender, I discovered that Maya and 3ds Max are commonly used in the industry. This led me to think, “Maybe I can actually do this too,” and “Could I become a creator and make the fantasy animations, films, K-pop music videos, and games that I love?” With those thoughts in mind, I decided to take a leave of absence from school and commit myself to learning this field more seriously.
While searching for an academy, I came across SF Film School through an internet search. Since I knew I would need to attend classes for a long period of time, the first factor I considered was location and convenience. Seeing that they had a Gangnam campus with good transportation access encouraged me to arrange an in-person consultation.
My first impression through the website was that SF Film School was a very large institution with multiple branches. I was impressed by its numerous awards and internal competitions, but at the same time I had concerns that because of its size, it might be difficult to adapt or receive focused guidance.
However, after the consultation, my perspective changed. The detailed explanations regarding industry work, employment opportunities, portfolio development processes, and the differences between SF Film School and other academies left a strong impression on me. I was also drawn to the fact that classes are conducted through small cohort-based groups rather than large-scale lectures. These aspects became the reasons I ultimately chose SF Film School.
Another important factor was my interest in overseas employment opportunities, and I found it appealing that the school has successfully guided many students toward careers abroad.
While writing my second interview materials, I had the chance to reflect once again on what I truly wanted to learn from the academy and to strengthen my determination. I felt that it was a meaningful and valuable process.
After being accepted, everything I need to learn has started to feel more real, and I now feel both excitement and nervousness. I will study sincerely and work hard to make this journey meaningful and worthwhile.
