SFFSLAB, Canada branch, is located in Vancouver. Vancouver is the rising heart of the CG & VFX industry. There are a lot of respetable international VFX studios, such as Industrial Light & Magtic, Sony Pictures Imageworks, MPC, Scanline VFX, Digital Domain, Method Studios, Zion Studios in Vancouver. The city is full of Hollywood movie filming sites and 3D animation studios. Because of this abundance of film studios, Vancouver is known as the second Hollywood in North America.

Every year, the SFFS Awards recognize the graduates who pushed their work the furthest. Projects are evaluated across the full production spectrum — concept, direction, and post-production — with winners selected for both technical execution and creative vision. For many graduates, it's the moment their portfolio goes from great to undeniable.
