The final results of [Rookie Awards 2026] have been announced. A total of 6,820 works from 520 educational institutions across 113 countries participated. SF Film School had 31 student works selected for Draft, with 7 students being selected as Finalists. Additionally, students' (Kim Seorin and Ryu Dahye) work achieved the honor of ranking 3rd in the world. We are incredibly proud of the SF Film School students who have achieved such outstanding results once again. We take great pride in your work receiving global recognition and will continue to support you as you create more brilliant projects in the future :)

September 2026 Student of the Month is Lee Seul-gi. Inspired by the film Girl with a Pearl Earring, set against the backdrop of the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century, Lee Seul-gi is currently creating a project centered around Vermeer’s studio and the Tulip Mania of the time.

The Rookie Awards is an international awards platform widely regarded as a gateway for emerging artists taking their first steps into the global CG and VFX industry. With countless aspiring artists submitting their work every year, being featured by the Rookie Awards is a meaningful recognition of an artist’s skill and level of completion on the international stage. The work featured this time by student Kim Dong-won is a digital human project recreating actor Tom Hardy’s face. The project captures incredibly realistic skin details, natural facial expressions, and subtle movements, making it difficult to distinguish the digital human from the real person. The work demonstrates a strong foundation in digital human creation, character art, and simulation, showcasing Kim Dong-won’s solid technical skills and attention to detail. Great work, Kim Dong-won!

August 2026 Monthly Best goes to student Lim Yoon-woo, who is currently creating **Circle**, a project that explores the cycle of life in nature and the interconnected relationships through which all living things coexist.

Review of the Seminar with Martin Lapp, FX Artist at Accenture Studio

Today, SF Film School held a graduation showcase featuring works by alumni Ryu Da-hye, Kang Seok-ho, Park Ji-hoon and Yang Su-min. Ryu Da-hye’s work was an environment piece based on the concept of a retro restaurant in Hong Kong. From the neon lights and old-fashioned signs to the unique atmosphere that reflects the passage of time, the nostalgic essence of Hong Kong was beautifully captured throughout the scene, making it a truly impressive work. Kang Seok-ho’s work is a character piece based on a unique concept in which the protagonist, after suffering an unexpected accident, participates in a javelin competition with almost the entire body replaced by robotic parts. Park Ji-hoon’s work is an animation piece featuring a cute child and a mouse. Through the story of the child and the mouse becoming connected, they encounter an unexpected stroke of luck. It was a truly charming and heartwarming story that brought a smile throughout the entire viewing experience. Han Min-young’s work is an animation piece about a girl who, after spending her days feeling exhausted and lost, rediscovers a dream she had forgotten. With its calm and heartwarming atmosphere, the thoughtful direction and emotional storytelling made this work especially memorable.

July 2026 Monthly Best goes to student Jo Jun-hyuk, who created a futuristic city environment set in a cyberpunk world.

June 2026's Monthly Best goes to Kim Mi joo, who beautifully recreated 'San,' the iconic protagonist from the masterpiece anime Princess Mononoke, as an impressive 3D character.

Today, SF Film School held a graduation showcase featuring works by alumni Park Si-hyun and Yang Su-min. Park Si-hyun presented a dynamic battle scene of a battle mage that feels like a scene from a game cinematic. Yang Su-min created a powerful scene of a volcanic eruption with dinosaurs running through it. We will continue to support both of them as they grow into world-class artists.

May 2026's Monthly Best goes to Ryu Da hye, who impressed everyone with her beautiful environment portfolio.

Eyeline Studios Look-Dev Artist Han Seung-yeon Visiting Seminar Review

Today, SF Film School held a graduation project presentation for graduates Kim Hye-jung and Jeon Kyung-min. Kim Hye-jung worked on a live-action adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s The Secret World of Arrietty, while Jeon Kyung-min created a compositing portfolio. We will continue to support and cheer for both of them as they grow into world-class artists.

April 2026's Monthly Best goes to Oh Yoo-bin, who impressed everyone with her stunning recreation of the creature from the film The Shape of Water.

March 2026's Monthly Best goes to Ahn Yeon-soo, who created a touching full 3D epilogue imagining the aftermath of the film Edward Scissorhands.
