Hello, my name is Shannon and I am from Canada. I wanted to learn more about CG compositing and become very good at it. At first, I watched many online tutorials, and when I got stuck, I asked friends who were already working in the industry. However, as I continued studying on my own, more and more questions began to pile up, and I realized that online tutorials could not provide answers to everything. My learning speed became very slow, and I often felt like I was hitting a wall.
So I started looking into schools and academies, and that was when a friend recommended SF FILM SCHOOL to me. I visited the school’s website, saw the students’ work, and was very impressed by the quality. When I saw that there were courses in matte painting and compositing, I thought, “This is exactly the place I’ve been looking for.”
SF FILM SCHOOL provided answers to many of the questions I had. The instructors were very supportive, and whenever I ran into another obstacle during my studies, they were extremely patient. Through their guidance, I was able to build a strong foundation in compositing, and as a result, I gained much more confidence as a junior compositor. I was also deeply impressed by the instructors’ dedication to their students.
Learning so much in such a short period of time was a huge challenge for me. There were many nights when I couldn’t sleep properly, but I am really looking forward to getting back to a regular sleep schedule. Looking back, creating my portfolio was truly enjoyable, and I am very proud of what I was able to achieve over the past six to seven months. I am now excited to finally show my work to various studios and to see how my future will unfold.
I recommend SF FILM SCHOOL to anyone who wants to build a strong foundation from 3D modeling to compositing. With your own effort and the support of the school, you will be very well prepared. I can confidently say that you will leave with a high-quality portfolio.
