I was quite worried because I was switching into the 3D field from a different major and felt like I was starting from zero. Thankfully, I was guided toward the VFX path that I was interested in, which led me to take the Maya course. I quickly realized that Maya is not an easy program, but I also came to believe that with consistent review, it’s something you can definitely keep up with.
The instructor especially emphasized key concepts and taught us efficient workflows, and by keeping those points in mind during review, I found that things I couldn’t do at first gradually became possible—at first roughly, and then more naturally. This is where I really felt the difference compared to YouTube tutorials.
I was taught how to work efficiently across various areas such as modeling, texturing, and rigging. As a result, I gained a clearer understanding of how to use Maya and how to approach different stages of production to create complete, well-structured work. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Instructor Sim Gwangseop for his dedicated teaching, and I will continue to work hard moving forward. Thank you!

Jingyeong, you’ve worked so hard attending the classes! You always had great attendance, and although you’re quiet, your positive attitude and warm smile actually encouraged me a lot as well.
This field can be very challenging to get through by studying alone, but when you learn together with like-minded friends and supportive instructors, you can improve your skills in an enjoyable way. That said, thorough review is absolutely essential!! I know it may have been difficult to review consistently while balancing work, but now it’s time to really focus and complete a great piece of work.
I’ll be here to help you, so let’s stay motivated and finish a strong personal project together. Great job, and well done!

While learning Maya for the first time, there were many challenging moments, and at times I felt impatient because there were so many things I wanted to create. However, through consultations with the instructor, I received a lot of valuable feedback and believe I was able to develop the skills I truly needed.
I really appreciated being able to learn almost every essential part of 3D production in depth—from modeling, the foundation of 3D, to cameras and animation. The seminars held at the academy, where industry professionals shared their experiences, were especially meaningful, as they helped me set clear and realistic goals. Overall, this was a very valuable and impactful time for me.
I will continue to steadily build my skills and work hard to become a highly polished and professional 3D artist in the future!

A man of passion!! Doyeon, you have so much passion, and what’s great is that you don’t let it stop there—you actively try to solve problems on your own, which is exactly what’s needed in the CG field where there’s always so much to learn.
Pour that passion fully into your work and create amazing pieces!! If you do, you’ll not only land a great job but also have the opportunity to contribute to outstanding projects and grow into a strong artist.
I’ll always be cheering you on!! Fighting!!!

As I was studying on my own, the biggest challenge I constantly faced was not having a clear direction. After taking the Maya class, I was finally able to overcome that concern completely! I believe it was thanks to the instructor's ability to explain things in an approachable way and guide us toward solving problems on our own.
When I compare myself now to when I first started, I feel that I have grown far more than I ever expected in using Maya. The instructor often said that growth comes through trial and error, and I think I was able to make it to the end thanks to those words, as well as the support of my classmates who were always willing to help whenever I needed it.
I’m truly grateful to both my instructor and classmates for the time we spent learning together. Moving forward, I’ll continue studying hard and building on everything I learned from this experience.
Instructor's Message
I'm glad to hear that the difficulties you experienced while studying on your own have been resolved! After all, that's one of the main reasons people choose to attend classes.
Trial and error is an essential part of the learning process. In fact, it's better to make those mistakes now while you're learning, so that when you start working at a company, you'll encounter fewer of them in a professional environment.
Thank you for working hard alongside your classmates throughout the course. Keep up the great work, and I wish you all the best in your future studies!

Ever since I decided that I wanted to become a VFX artist, Maya felt like a major challenge that I knew I had to overcome. It was a tool I wanted to learn and knew I needed to learn, but whenever I tried to study it on my own, it felt overwhelming and difficult.
After joining SF Film School, Maya was the very first class I took, and throughout the course, I was able to tackle that challenge step by step thanks to the support of both my instructor and classmates. While the course may seem short in some ways, spending that time learning helped me feel like I had taken a meaningful step toward my dream of becoming a VFX artist, which once felt so distant.
I would like to sincerely thank my instructor for always teaching with dedication and enthusiasm, as well as my fellow Class 494 classmates who worked hard alongside me throughout the journey.
Instructor's Message
Thank you for always putting in your best effort throughout the course! I hope you enjoyed learning the tool you had been wanting to study for so long.
I'm glad to hear that the experience helped you move one step closer to your dream. Maya is certainly not an easy tool to master, and there will likely be more challenges ahead, but please don't hesitate to reach out whenever you need help. I'll always be happy to support you in any way I can.
You consistently approached your work with patience, asking thoughtful questions and progressing step by step. Because of that, I have no doubt that you'll continue to grow into a great artist. I'll always be cheering you on and wishing you the very best in your journey ahead!

I’m truly grateful for the support and guidance I received from my instructor throughout this period, which allowed me to stay focused and fully engaged in my studies.
One thing I especially appreciated was how the instructor always identified and explained the areas I didn’t fully understand, helping me build a solid understanding of each topic. Thanks to the clear and approachable guidance, the lessons were easy to follow, making it much easier for everyone in the class to keep up with the pace.
In addition, the course introduced us to a variety of approaches and problem-solving methods, which gave me new perspectives and greatly contributed to improving my skills. I would like to sincerely thank my instructor once again for all the support and encouragement throughout the course.

You worked hard throughout the course, and I’m very glad to hear that the Maya classes were helpful for you.
Maya is a tool with incredible flexibility—it’s almost like a living thing. Over time, that experience gives you greater confidence and freedom in your work.
I can tell that you’ve developed a strong understanding of the tools, and I’m excited to see the projects you create moving forward. Keep working hard, create some amazing pieces, and let’s make sure you achieve your goal of finding a great position in the industry. Best of luck, and I’ll be cheering you on! ^^

I spent about six months taking the Maya course, and since I had already studied video production and 3D Maya for four years during university, it felt a bit like being back in college. In a way, it was a refreshing and enjoyable experience.
One of the things I appreciated most was the small class size, which made it easy to ask questions and receive answers right away whenever something came up. Another positive aspect was being surrounded by students who were genuinely motivated to learn. Unlike some larger classroom environments, everyone was focused and engaged, creating a productive atmosphere that made learning much more enjoyable.
Overall, it was a valuable experience, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to revisit Maya in a more focused and supportive setting.

I’m glad to hear that you found the Maya course rewarding and worthwhile.
Reviewing and reinforcing what you've learned is an incredibly important part of the learning process. It helps fill in the gaps and strengthen your understanding of concepts that may not have fully clicked the first time around.
That being said, Juhyun, you picked things up very quickly throughout the course. On top of that, the concept for your portfolio project is very impressive, and I have high expectations for the final result. I’m looking forward to seeing the work you create.
Keep up the great effort, stay focused on finishing your project, and let’s create an outstanding portfolio piece that helps you achieve your goal of finding a great position in the industry. Best of luck! ^^

Before I started learning Maya, I had always heard that it was a difficult program to master, so I was worried about whether I would be able to keep up. However, after joining the academy and taking the classes, I found the learning experience much more enjoyable than I had expected, thanks to the instructor’s clear and supportive teaching style.
What I appreciated most was that the lessons went beyond simply explaining how a tool works. The instructor would also explain when and why certain tools are used, as well as the types of projects or situations where they become useful. That approach made it much easier to understand the purpose behind what we were learning rather than just memorizing functions.
The instructor’s friendly and approachable attitude also made the classes more enjoyable, and I feel that I was able to learn both more effectively and in greater detail because of it.

I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the course so much.
The tools we learn are ultimately just tools—the important thing is how we choose to use them and apply them creatively in our work. I also appreciate how often you asked questions and took the time to fully understand concepts whenever something was unclear.
As you move forward, I hope you continue preparing for the goals you've set for yourself and use what you've learned to create an outstanding portfolio. Keep up the great work, and best of luck with everything ahead. Fighting!

When I previously learned Maya at another general academy, I studied Maya, surface modeling, lighting, and more, but I often found myself strongly questioning whether I could really do it on my own. However, after transferring to SF Film School, gaining hands-on practice, and attending senior students’ portfolio presentations, I began to feel confident that if I truly committed to it, I could make it work.
In particular, by personally experiencing everything from basic modeling to rigging and animation, I was able to seriously reflect on what suited me and what didn’t, as well as which direction I should pursue. I also appreciated how this process led me to think deeply about the kind of work I want to create.

When I first enrolled in the academy, I hesitated quite a bit because I didn’t come from a design background, and Maya itself seemed like a very difficult program to learn. However, I decided that if I was going to learn it, I wanted to learn it properly, which led me to join SF Film School.
At the beginning, I struggled a lot because Maya is a complex tool and I lacked the basic knowledge needed to use it effectively. But whenever I had questions, the instructor was always willing to help and explain things clearly. Thanks to that, I was able to learn a great deal and gradually see my own improvement. It made the classes both enjoyable and rewarding.
Moving forward, I plan to make full use of everything I’ve learned and create a portfolio that I can truly be proud of!

I’m very glad to hear that you feel you’ve grown throughout the course. There’s still plenty more to learn, but I hope you continue building on the foundation you’ve developed here and create some amazing projects in the future.
Good luck in the portfolio class as well—keep up the great work! 💪

It has already been quite a long time since I first started learning 3D. During my time studying Maya, I went through countless trials and errors under my instructor’s guidance and was able to learn a practical, big-picture 3D workflow. Repeating what I learned through assignments helped me absorb the material quickly.
Of course, the process was often challenging, but it was also incredibly enjoyable. Whenever I finished an assignment, I would find myself thinking, “I feel like I’m finally starting to understand this,” or “I think I could do this even better now.” Just as I reached that point, we would move on to the next topic. While that was a little disappointing, even that sense of unfinished business was enjoyable in its own way.
Through the course, I realized something important: no matter how much I learned, there was still so much more to learn. The more detailed and refined a project becomes, the more skills and knowledge it demands. It made me realize just how vast and deep the world of VFX truly is.
As a 3D artist, I may not even be standing at the starting line yet, but through this foundational course, I was able to find where that starting line is. Moving forward, I plan to continue refining my skills in the portfolio class and prepare myself to truly enter the race. Thank you.

You worked incredibly hard throughout the course! Every time I saw you staying behind to continue studying and practicing, I found myself thinking that you would become an outstanding artist in the future.
I'm glad to hear that even the moments of frustration and unfinished curiosity were enjoyable for you. From now on, you'll have the opportunity to focus deeply on a specific subject, develop your skills further, and create your own projects. I hope you can channel all of that motivation into your work and enjoy the process even more.
There is still a great deal left to learn, but you've already completed the most important step—you've prepared yourself to begin the journey. I'll continue to support and help you as much as I can in the portfolio class as well. Keep up the great work!

When I first started the course, I carried a vague sense of fear about taking on something completely new. However, as time went on, I realized that those fears were unnecessary.
One of the things I appreciated most was how the lessons were always taught at a level that beginners could comfortably follow, along with the immediate feedback we received throughout the course. There were times when I hesitated to ask questions, wondering, “Is it okay to ask this?” or “Will this make me look foolish?” But before I could even decide, the instructor would often come over and ask, “How’s it going? Do you have any questions?” Those moments meant a lot to me and made me feel genuinely supported.
I was also deeply impressed by the instructor’s dedication. Despite the long class hours, they consistently taught with enthusiasm and commitment, often putting in just as much effort as the students themselves. The additional reference materials, insights drawn from previous classes, and the ability to recognize when the class was struggling or losing energy all made a huge difference. Whenever students found something difficult, the instructor would either explain it again, offer helpful hints, or lighten the atmosphere with a bit of humor, helping us find our own way forward.
What stood out even more was that the support didn’t end when class was over. Even online, the instructor frequently encouraged us and continued to offer guidance. It always felt as though the students were genuinely cared for and supported.
Thank you for all the hard work and dedication throughout the Maya course. I hope both our instructor and everyone in our class experience nothing but happiness and success moving forward. Thank you very much!

When I first started learning Maya, I honestly felt overwhelmed. I didn’t know any of the shortcuts, and with so many menus and tools available, the software seemed incredibly complex and intimidating. However, as the instructor guided us through examples and I continued following the lessons, I was able to learn a great deal and gradually become more comfortable with Maya.
One of the most challenging parts for me was studying shading and node-based workflows. There were many moments when I struggled, but as I continued practicing and reviewing the material on my own, I began to see results in my projects. Whenever I completed something successfully, I felt a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Even though it was difficult at times, those experiences motivated me to work even harder and stay engaged in the course.
There are still many things that I find challenging, even now, but throughout the class I enjoyed learning by constantly thinking about how I could apply each new skill to my own portfolio projects. That mindset made the learning process both meaningful and enjoyable.
