Jacob Contreras

Hello, my name is Jamie, and I’m from Austin, Texas, USA.

Before coming to SF Film School, I worked as an English teacher in Korea.

Since I didn’t study film or VFX in college, I initially couldn’t find a job in this field.

After teaching English in Korea for three years, I could have returned to the U.S. to prepare for another career path —

but after discovering SF Film School, I decided to enroll and pursue my dream once again.

I grew up loving movies, and when I saw student portfolios from other schools, they were impressive —

but the SF Film School portfolios truly amazed me with their high quality.

The professionalism and artistry of the students’ work became the main reason I chose this school.

The students’ passion and effort inspired me, and I began to believe that I, too, could create such powerful works someday.

It’s been about a month since I started, and I’m really enjoying the classes.

The teachers are excellent, and I can feel that they pay great attention not only to the lessons but also to each individual student.

Life in Korea has been incredibly satisfying —

I love the beautiful weather, the wonderful people, and of course, the amazing food. Everything feels just right.

All the teachers are highly skilled, and I truly feel I’m improving every day.

My goal is to work in the VFX industry and someday see my name in the credits of a blockbuster film.
