Overseas Employment
SFFS
Support System
Among those applying to our school, a significant number are those who aim to find employment overseas, and the number of applicants is increasing day by day. It takes a lot of time and money to study abroad and acquire professional skills and create a portfolio. That is why they come to our school.
Our school has established a thorough overseas employment support system that is no less than the system for finding employment at domestic companies.
Our school branch has been established in Vancouver, Canada, and since major overseas VX & ANIMATION companies such as SONY PICTURES MAGEWORKS, DIGNAL DOMAN, INDUSTRIAL UGHT& MAGIC, and MOVING PICTURE CO are already located there, employment connections are becoming more active.
SF Film School will work harder to systematically achieve overseas employment goals for current and former students preparing for overseas employment, as well as prospective new students who will learn at our school in the future.

Vancouver emerges as the centerof the global VFX industry
This is also related to the reason why SIGGRAPH 2014 was held in Vancouver, Canada, not the United States. Currently, most of the branches of large VFX studios in Hollywood and Europe have been established in Vancouver, and if you look into each studio, there are many cases where Vancouver's power surpasses the main studios.
According to CREATIVE BC, a cultural (film, music, publishing, digital media, etc.) promotion agency of British Columbia, where Vancouver is located, Vancouver has experienced exponential growth since 2009, which seems to be due to the influence of the DAVE (DIGITAL ANIMATION VISUAL EFFECT TAX CREDIT: tax benefits given to productions that hire BC-based talent to create digital animation and visual effects) program. DAUK was enacted in 2003, but was revised to its current form in 2007, and it is the only case in which a single policy has enabled almost all Hollywood studios to establish branches or relocate their headquarters.
Currently, 95% of Hollywood projects within the scope of the target being carried out in Vancouver are considered beneficiaries. In addition to the tax benefits provided by the relocation area, branch expansion in the form of establishing branches also has advantages such as reduced maintenance costs for auxiliary facilities and flexible manpower supply. For example, MPC, ILM, Digital Domain, and Sony Pictures Imageworks are located in Vancouver and other tax benefit areas, and there are cases in which matchmoving or roto -scoping processes are conducted in India and China, where low-cost, high-efficiency labor is the goal. The main factor in attracting the attention of Hollywood studios is that Vancouver has traditionally accumulated technology and sensibility centered on live-action special effects and TV series, and BC's tax policy has been added to this, and this background is VFX technology reaching a critical point and the leveling of technology among major studios.
