Christine Yu

U.S.A

Hello, my name is Christine Yu, I am 21 years old, from the U.S.A., and currently a sophomore majoring in 3D Character Animation at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I had heard amazing things about SF Film School, and after seeing the works created by its students, I was truly impressed. The projects immediately caught my attention, and I felt that SF Film School could greatly help me not only as an animator but also in building a future in the film industry.

Honestly, I was blown away—I thought I was looking at Hollywood-level work! When I first saw the portfolios from SF Film School, I couldn’t believe they were created by students. I thought they must have been done by professionals already working in Hollywood or the game industry. I said to myself, “Wow, even though Korea doesn’t have a major Hollywood studio, the students here are producing such incredible work!” It was truly inspiring, and I wanted to see how these artists push themselves to achieve that level.

In many international portfolios, the focus is only on the final result. They rarely show the step-by-step process or how much effort and time went into creating the work. But SF Film School portfolios include everything—every step of the process—so you don’t even need to ask questions; the answers are already there.

The environment here is comfortable, supportive, and filled with kind classmates, staff, and of course, amazing instructors—just like you! The lessons are paced according to each student’s needs, and the teachers take the time to ensure everyone understands.

My dream is to join an animation studio, become a major animator, and gradually work my way up from the bottom of my field. One day, I want to collaborate with directors to create films. And I believe that with the foundation I gain here, it’s absolutely possible.

If my friends ever become interested in studying abroad, I would definitely recommend SF Film School. As I mentioned, the instructors are outstanding, the learning environment is welcoming, and the passion for the craft is incredible.

SF Film School Fighting!
