Gatine Becker

France

My name is Gatien Becker, and I am from France.

I studied film for five years at Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, focusing primarily on theory. Wanting to expand my skills into the technical side of filmmaking, I came to SF Film School to learn 3D.

A Korean friend first introduced me to SF Film School, and after researching the program online, I was impressed by the videos on the school’s Vimeo channel and website. They inspired me and strengthened my determination to study here.

I am currently enrolled in the Special Effects program and have already completed an enjoyable After Effects course. I began with After Effects and am now learning Maya, which I find suits me the most. My ultimate goal is to become a professional modeler.

One of the things I value most here is the constant support from the instructors. They are always nearby to answer questions, provide guidance, and give personalized feedback. This level of mentorship was rare during my university studies, but at SF Film School, it’s part of the learning experience. The structured lessons, combined with ample practice and assignments, have helped me build a strong foundation.

For international students, SF Film School offers ways to follow classes even without full proficiency in Korean. The school encourages creative thinking, helping students explore the worlds they want to build while learning VFX. In the end, 3D opens up limitless possibilities — and here, you have the tools to make them real.
