Jacob Contreras

Hello, my name is Jacob, and I’m from Austin, Texas, USA. Before coming to SF Film School, I worked as an English teacher in Korea.Although I studied Film/VFX in college, I was unable to secure a job in the field at the time.After teaching English in Korea for three years, I could have returned to the U.S. to prepare for employment, but once I learned about SF Film School, I decided to enroll to pursue my dream once again.

I have always nurtured my dream through my love of movies. Compared to portfolios from students of other schools abroad, I hadn’t seen many that truly impressed me — until I saw the portfolios of SF Film School students. I was deeply moved by their quality, and that was the decisive reason I chose this school.

Seeing the students’ work gave me hope that I, too, could create such projects. I genuinely enjoy the classes, and the instructors are wonderful. They pay close attention to each student and are very dedicated to the lessons.

Life in Korea has been extremely satisfying and enjoyable. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve already lived here for three years, and I love the food, the people’s optimism, and everything about this country.

All of the instructors are highly skilled, and I believe I am making great progress. My goal is to work in the VFX industry and one day see my name in the credits of a blockbuster film. Thank you.
