Spotlight on jiyeon Baek

The Rookie Awards

Baek jiyeon

Baek Ji-yeon’s The Flying Mouse is a creative project based on Torben Kuhlmann’s picture book Lindbergh: The Tale of a Flying Mouse. The work beautifully recreates the warm emotions and storytelling of the original picture book in 3D while preserving the charm of 2D illustrations. Despite being a 3D animation, the delicate colors, composition, and direction make it feel as if you are turning the pages of a picture book. These elements left a strong impression and inspired professionals in the VFX industry. As a result, the Rookie Awards team reached out directly, expressing their desire to feature Baek Ji-yeon’s work in an article. This led to the achievement of having her project officially introduced to audiences around the world.
