When I first started Maya, I struggled a lot because I wasn’t familiar with the tools, but the instructor always explained everything in detail, which helped me a lot in learning.

Thanks to that, I think it will be very helpful for creating my portfolio. At first, I wasn’t sure about my career direction and had many worries, but through consultations with the instructor and various learning experiences, my direction has become much clearer.

From now on, I want to actively use everything I’ve learned so far to create great work. Thank you for all your hard work!

Without much hesitation, I took my first step at SF Film School. Over the past period, through Maya, I learned various departments such as modeling, lighting, rendering, rigging, texturing, and FX. Unlike when I vaguely thought “I just want to do VFX,” I was able to clearly see which specific part I want to work in and which direction I should move forward in my career, which was very meaningful for me.

Although I often had to attend classes online due to living in another region, it was still great to be able to study together with my 442nd cohort classmates. I hope everyone continues to work hard toward their own goals. Let’s go, Class 442!

I first learned about the academy through a recommendation from a friend. After seeing the portfolios created by the graduates, I knew this was the place where I wanted to study and develop my skills.

Since I came from a non-CG background and had no prior experience in the field, I was quite nervous at first. However, thanks to the instructors’ guidance and support, I was able to enjoy the learning process and gradually build my confidence. The lessons were taught in a way that made even unfamiliar concepts approachable and interesting.

I also really appreciated the opportunity to attend various seminars that covered topics not easily accessible elsewhere. Those experiences broadened my perspective and gave me valuable insight into different areas of the industry.

Moving forward, I plan to continue practicing, working hard, and doing my best to create strong portfolio pieces and projects that reflect everything I have learned.

When I first started the course, I worried that I had jumped into learning Maya without any prior knowledge or preparation. However, thanks to the instructor’s patient guidance and step-by-step teaching approach, I was able to build a solid understanding from the ground up and complete the course without feeling overwhelmed.

Whenever I encountered difficulties, the instructor was always willing to help and provide support from different angles, which made the learning process much smoother and more enjoyable. Because of that guidance, I was able to gain confidence and continue improving throughout the program.

Before coming to SF Film School, when I first tried Maya, the interface felt too complex and I didn’t know what to start with, so I struggled a lot.

However, the instructor taught me step by step in a structured order, which made Maya feel much more familiar.

As I continued practicing, things that felt clumsy at the beginning gradually became more natural, and I was able to find what I needed more easily, which made me feel proud.

The only regret is that I postponed reviewing the difficult parts, so later I had too many things to go back over at once, which made things more complicated. I wish I had reviewed more consistently.

Still, I’m glad that I can now get a sense of direction when creating my own work.

When I first started the Maya program, I had absolutely no knowledge of Maya or any VFX-related software. I was truly starting from zero. Looking back now, I realize how fortunate I was to have such a great instructor and a well-structured curriculum. The classes were so engaging and informative that time seemed to pass by incredibly quickly.

The instructor’s patient guidance, live demonstrations, industry experience, and practical tips were all tremendously helpful. Each lesson was designed in a way that allowed students to stay focused, avoid unnecessary confusion, and successfully achieve the goals set for that day. Those insights and real-world experiences made the learning process much more effective and enjoyable.

The academy also offered several special lectures throughout the program. Although I wasn’t able to attend as many as I would have liked, the sessions I did attend introduced valuable techniques and knowledge that I believe will be extremely useful when creating my future portfolio projects.

One thing I do regret is not spending more time creating personal projects and experimenting with the skills I learned outside of class. While I consistently reviewed the lesson material at home, I wish I had pushed myself to apply those techniques in more creative and varied ways. Even so, I believe the knowledge and skills I gained during this program will serve as a strong foundation for my future in the VFX industry.

I would like to sincerely thank my instructor for all of the guidance and support throughout the course, as well as my fellow classmates who shared this learning journey with me. It has been a meaningful and rewarding experience.

While working at a small video production company, I had always admired the high-quality CG and 3D work used in professional videos, which led me to enroll in the Maya course.

Since I had no prior knowledge of 3D, I was worried that it would be too difficult to keep up, but thanks to the instructor’s consistent help and consideration, I was able to complete the course successfully.

There were times when I fell behind due to work, but I believe I was able to finish the class because the instructor never gave up on guiding me.

Most importantly, while learning, I discovered a new world in the CG industry and was able to develop new dreams, which I am very grateful for.

However, thanks to the instructors' detailed guidance and constant support, I now feel that I’ve built a solid foundation and learned far more than I ever expected.

I’m also grateful not only to the instructors but to my classmates as well. Their encouragement, advice, and willingness to help made my time at the academy much more enjoyable and rewarding. Being surrounded by people who shared similar goals helped motivate me to keep learning and improving.

Since there are still many more courses ahead of me, I’m excited to continue learning, developing my skills, and discovering new aspects of the CG and VFX industry. I look forward to making the most of the opportunities that lie ahead!

When I first decided to learn MAYA, I truly felt overwhelmed. There are many fields such as OTT, films, and games where Maya is widely used, but in my country there were not many institutions that teach it in a highly professional way like overseas.

So, as someone without an art background, it felt like something very far away from me. However, through SF Film School, I was able to get closer to that dream.

At first, everything—from unfamiliar software and tools to technical computer knowledge—made VFX feel different from what I had imagined. But I kept trusting the academy I chose and continued attending classes.

The instructors carefully taught everything from the basics in a way even non-majors could understand, and whenever I got stuck, they patiently helped me individually. I was also motivated by classmates studying alongside me, alumni sharing their experience, and especially the lectures from active VFX professionals in Korea and abroad.

Completing the Maya course, I feel proud that I am now closer to my dream. I truly enjoyed the classes, and I am grateful to the instructors who supported me until the end.

As I finish the class, I think the thing that helped me the most while attending the academy is that I’ve developed my observational skills in looking at objects. At the beginning, studying CG felt very vague, like heading straight into a wall with no experience. However, thanks to the teacher’s guidance, I was able to learn well without wandering or feeling lost. I feel quite satisfied because I’ve taken one step closer to the path I want to pursue in the future.

During the course, there were seminars by industry professionals and portfolio artists from time to time, which were very helpful and informative as they allowed me to learn about practical industry knowledge and things I was curious about. The class content was quite difficult for me, but even when I struggled to keep up, the instructor did their best to support me so I wouldn’t fall behind.

While attending SF Film School, I became much more familiar with 3D tools and was able to learn a variety of techniques. Through this process, I gradually gained confidence in 3D modeling.

The instructor provided fast feedback and clear answers to my questions, which helped me keep up with the pace of the course without major difficulties. Thanks to this support, my skills were able to improve quickly.

I initially started exploring this field out of simple curiosity, but as I continued taking classes, my interest grew stronger and eventually led me to choose it as my career path.

Through various assignments, I was able to develop my problem-solving skills and improve my abilities independently. In addition, the special lectures and seminars organized by the instructors gave me the opportunity to learn about tools and workflows beyond the regular curriculum, helping me gain a broader understanding of the CG industry as a whole.

I would like to sincerely thank all of the instructors for explaining everything so carefully and kindly from the very beginning, making it easy even for complete beginners like me to follow along and grow.

When I first encountered Maya, I began the journey with a mixture of excitement and anticipation. At the same time, I was more nervous than ever before because I was starting a completely new path later than many others around me.

Fortunately, my instructors helped me build a strong foundation from the very beginning by carefully guiding us through the fundamentals. Because the basics were taught so thoroughly, I was able to develop a much better understanding of both the software and the overall CG workflow.

One memory that stands out in particular is the excavator rigging project. It was one of the more challenging parts of the course for me, but whenever I encountered difficulties, my instructor patiently answered my questions and provided clear explanations that helped me overcome those obstacles. Looking back, it's one of the experiences I remember most vividly because of how much I learned through the process.

I know that I still have a long journey ahead of me, and there is much more to learn. However, thanks to this course, I feel like I've successfully fastened the first button and taken an important step toward my future goals.

I have always been interested in 3D environment design, and through the Maya course I was able to take a more concrete step forward in that direction. Compared to a previous short 3D-related course I took, this program felt much more structured, and it was designed in a way that even beginners could follow, which made learning more enjoyable over time.

I was able to gradually learn and apply many of Maya’s features in a step-by-step manner, and the structured flow of the course made the learning process feel comfortable and approachable.

Although I faced some personal difficulties in the later part of the course, I will refocus and do my best moving forward. Thank you for always teaching so kindly.

This was my second time taking a Maya course, having previously studied at another academy. One of the things that impressed me most about this program was how structured and organized the curriculum felt from the very beginning.

Because the classes focused heavily on practical, real-world applications, I was introduced to many tools, features, and scripts that I had never used before, which made the learning process both exciting and enjoyable. One of the biggest surprises for me was discovering an interest in rigging and animation—areas that I had never paid much attention to before. Being able to explore those disciplines turned out to be a wonderful opportunity and expanded my perspective on the CG industry.

The cohort-based learning environment was another major highlight. Being able to share experiences and exchange ideas with fellow students provided a great deal of motivation and encouragement throughout the program. I also found the storyboard presentations and alumni portfolio showcases extremely valuable, as they exposed me to a wide variety of artistic styles and creative approaches.

Overall, the positive and energetic atmosphere created by both the instructors and students made this a truly meaningful experience. I’m grateful not only for everything I learned, but also for the wonderful people I had the chance to meet along the way.

Although I had some experience with 2D tools, 3D was completely new to me, so at first I often felt uncertain and kept wondering whether I was doing things correctly. However, over time, I began to feel genuine excitement as I saw completed works that I had created myself with my own hands.

I had always only imagined creating something of my own, but through this course, I was able to experience the process of building and finishing projects step by step, which helped me stay consistently motivated.

There were still many moments where I struggled whenever new concepts were introduced, but the instructor’s support made a big difference. Instead of spending excessive time stuck on problems alone, I was able to understand and adapt more efficiently through guidance and feedback.

The instructor also actively observed our progress during class and immediately corrected mistakes or helped resolve issues, which allowed me to continue learning smoothly without major difficulties. I also really appreciated how patiently and clearly everything was explained whenever I had questions.

Although there is still much for me to learn, I will continue working hard so that I can eventually create my own portfolio project. Thank you.

Throughout the Maya course, I had the opportunity to learn the complete 3D production pipeline, including modeling, texturing, rendering, and animation. At first, the complexity of the software made the learning process quite challenging, and there were many moments when I felt overwhelmed by the number of tools and workflows to understand.

However, thanks to my instructor's guidance and support, I was able to gradually improve my skills and gain confidence in using the software. As the course progressed, I developed a much better understanding of how each stage of the production process connects together and contributes to the final result.

The knowledge and experience I gained throughout the program have given me a strong foundation in CG production. Moving forward, I hope to continue exploring this field in greater depth and apply everything I have learned to create increasingly ambitious and polished work.
