Attending SF Film School helped me build a strong foundation of knowledge in CG and 3D. Through the program, I was also introduced to a wide variety of career paths within the industry, which broadened my perspective and expanded the possibilities for my future goals and dreams.

Rather than relying solely on online tutorials and self-study, I was able to develop practical skills much more quickly through hands-on training and guided exercises. One piece of advice that was especially helpful was my Maya instructor’s recommendation to practice “one hard-surface model a day.” By consistently following that approach, I felt my modeling skills improve significantly in a relatively short period of time.

Most of all, I am incredibly grateful to my instructor, whose passion and dedication to teaching motivated me to work harder and grow faster than I thought possible. Thanks to that guidance, I was able to make meaningful progress throughout the course.

Since this was my first time working with 3D-related software, the beginning of the course felt quite overwhelming. It was difficult to keep up with the lessons, and I was constantly trying to understand many new concepts at once.

However, as time went on, I began to understand what I had learned previously, which gradually gave me more confidence. The assignments given after class were especially helpful in reinforcing the lessons and improving my understanding.

As I worked on different tasks, I realized how important it is to reflect on what I’ve learned and think about how to apply it in different situations. I also found that practicing on my own—by reviewing class materials or attempting new exercises—is essential for truly internalizing the skills.

Although I learned a great deal during the Maya course, I also discovered many areas that I would like to continue exploring and improving in the future.

When I first joined the academy, I started the course with very little knowledge and some hesitation, but I soon realized I had made the right choice. One of the biggest reasons was the way the instructor taught. Rather than simply showing a reference and telling us to follow along, they explained the fundamental principles and concepts—how the software actually works and why it works that way.

Because of this, I wasn’t just memorizing tools; I was able to truly understand and apply them. Learning in a way that focused on understanding rather than repetition was extremely valuable, and I’m very grateful to the instructor for that. Thank you for your hard work.

The instructor was highly knowledgeable and taught every lesson with great professionalism and kindness. I started the course with absolutely no experience or understanding of the software, but thanks to the clear explanations and supportive guidance, I was able to learn a tremendous amount throughout the program.

The lessons were approachable even for beginners, and whenever I encountered difficulties, I received the help and encouragement I needed to keep moving forward. Looking back, I’m very grateful for the opportunity to learn from such experienced and dedicated instructors.

This was my first time learning what Maya even is, and when I first started this course, I was both excited and worried about whether I could finish it and keep up as a beginner. The parts that were difficult or hard to understand were well explained by the instructor, and I was also given many useful tips and insights about the field, which helped me a lot when I felt lost.

Although I still have many areas I need to improve on, I hope I can gain more experience and opportunities through SF Film School. Thank you for teaching me so well during this time.

After attending the initial consultation, I learned that the academy operates with a homeroom instructor system. Knowing that I would have a dedicated instructor to guide me throughout the program gave me a greater sense of trust and confidence compared to other schools, which ultimately led me to enroll.

Having a homeroom instructor made a significant difference in my learning experience. I felt comfortable asking questions whenever I was unsure about something, and I always received guidance and support when I needed it. More importantly, the experience helped me gain confidence in a dream that had previously felt uncertain and distant.

Of all the software I learned during the program, Maya felt like the most challenging. There were many times when I questioned whether I would be able to keep up with such a complex tool. However, after completing the course, I now have a much clearer understanding of how 3D content is created and transformed into a final visual production. Learning the entire workflow gave me a broader perspective and helped me understand Maya much more deeply.

As I move on to the portfolio program, I plan to continue working hard, create strong projects, and strive for the best possible results. Thank you for all the support and guidance throughout this journey.

I studied both Maya and ZBrush at SF Film School, and when I first started, even the terminology felt completely unfamiliar, making it difficult to keep up at times.

However, I was able to continue all the way to the end thanks to the motivation I received from my classmates, who encouraged each other to finish the program together. In addition, the instructors were always patient and supportive, explaining anything I didn’t understand without ever getting frustrated, no matter how many questions I asked.

Because of this supportive environment, I was able to enjoy the classes and complete the program together with my 454th cohort, which made the experience both meaningful and fun.

I sincerely hope to continue working closely with my classmates and instructors even during the portfolio course, and I am determined to work hard and improve further. Wishing the best for everyone in the cohort—let’s all do our best and keep moving forward!

The time that felt so long actually passed by very quickly, and although I feel a bit sad that it’s over, I was able to learn a lot thanks to the instructor’s detailed teaching.

Since it was my first time using this program, I made many mistakes and often struggled, but the instructor never got upset and patiently guided me step by step again.

Even when I was a bit slow, the instructor encouraged me, which helped me complete the course successfully.

I’m grateful that I was able to learn in a professional academy with a well-structured curriculum, and that I could comfortably ask questions and communicate with the instructors.

When I decided to study VFX, I had many concerns. In my previous job, I had worked with different 3D software, so I was worried whether I might get even more confused or whether I would be able to learn properly.

When I started the Maya course, it was my first time using Maya. As the instructor mentioned, I tried to spend as much time as possible interacting with the software and practicing even small modeling tasks whenever I could.

Just by reviewing what we learned in class, I was able to get a fairly solid grasp of Maya in a relatively short period of time. Of course, I still need to explore and apply many more features, but I was very satisfied that I could learn everything from modeling to rendering, rigging, and animation, with detailed explanations for all my questions.

I will continue to study and develop what I learned as I move on to the portfolio class. Thank you for all your hard work.

While taking the Maya course, I felt that choosing SF Film School was a great decision. From the basic functions at the beginning to more detailed tools and advanced features as the course progressed, everything was explained in a way that students could easily understand.

Whenever I missed something or had questions and raised my hand, the instructor kindly explained it again, which I really appreciated. Even when I had a busy schedule, the school was very understanding, which I was grateful for.

Although the commute distance was a bit long, attending the academy was enjoyable enough that I looked forward to coming in. Thanks to this, I gained confidence that I can gradually build up even complex modeling projects step by step. I’m truly grateful for the teaching, and I will continue to work hard to improve using what I’ve learned.

While learning Maya, I sometimes got really absorbed in modeling and lost track of time because it was so fun. Other times, I struggled with difficult parts, searched for solutions online, and spent a lot of time thinking through problems.

When I didn’t understand something, the instructor clearly explained what the issue was, which was very helpful.

I still lack knowledge and have many areas to improve, so I feel a bit worried about preparing my portfolio. However, knowing that the instructor is there makes me feel reassured.

The time I thought would be long passed by much faster than expected. I do have some regret about not working harder, but I want to move past that and continue preparing my portfolio consistently and sincerely using what I learned.

It feels a little surreal to be writing a course review already—the time has passed so quickly. It feels like only yesterday we were learning basic tools like Extrude.

When I first decided to learn CG, I stepped into a completely unfamiliar field with a lot of worries. However, thanks to meeting great instructors, I was able to enjoy the learning process without losing motivation. Over time, my interest in CG has grown much more than when I first started.

Although it is still challenging, it has been a refreshing experience to develop curiosity and ambition for something like this again after a long time. I especially want to express my gratitude to the instructor for always being available to answer my many questions, even outside of class hours.

I will continue working hard in the portfolio course and do my best to create strong work. I also hope that all my classmates are able to successfully complete their portfolio projects and achieve great results.

I feel very proud to be attending this academy right now. As someone without any prior knowledge, it was difficult for me to keep up at the beginning of the Maya course, but it was also very enjoyable.

Although I’m a bit sad that the Maya class has already come to an end, I am really looking forward to learning new things in the next stage. I would like to sincerely thank my instructor for teaching me in an easy-to-understand way and adjusting the pace when I was struggling.

I think I chose the academy well. The curriculum was well organized, and it was good to do practical exercises together with the teacher and receive feedback. Even though it's an academy, there are class groups, so it feels like school, and it seems like they pay more attention to each individual. The teachers are also kind.

I realized that one of its greatest strengths is its well-structured curriculum and the detailed guidance provided by the instructors. Not only did the classes cover the technical aspects thoroughly, but the school also created an environment where students could freely ask questions about the constantly evolving CG industry and receive timely, constructive feedback.

Throughout this program, I was able to overcome many of the concerns and challenges that had previously made 3D feel like an insurmountable barrier to me. It was an invaluable experience that gave me the confidence to take my first steps into the world of 3D graphics.

Over what could be considered a long or short period of time, I was able to learn Maya in a very meaningful and thorough way.

Although I was interested in 3D, I didn’t really know how things were made or what specific field I wanted to pursue. After attending SF Film School, I was able to gain some direction and think more deeply about my goals.

Maya felt heavy and difficult, so I had never tried it before, but through learning it step by step from the basics, I became much more familiar with the program.

Through this course, I gradually gained a clearer understanding of which direction I want to pursue in the CG field, and it also helped me set more concrete career goals. While there is still much for me to learn, I will continue practicing consistently and build upon the foundation I developed during this program.

Over a relatively long period of time, I focused on learning a single CG program, and yet I still feel like there is so much more to learn. I now truly understand what it means when people say that CG is something you study for a lifetime.

Throughout the course, I was able to learn not only modeling, but also rigging, lighting, and other important production considerations. The instructors often pointed out common mistakes in advance, which helped me greatly reduce the time I would have otherwise spent on trial and error or rework.

Because of this structured learning process, I was able to complete in a much shorter time what might have otherwise taken years to figure out on my own. I am sincerely grateful to my instructor for sharing such detailed knowledge and guidance throughout the program.

I am also thankful to my classmates, who helped me stay motivated whenever I felt distracted or uncertain. Thanks to this environment, even though I know I will still face challenges when working on future projects, I feel much less overwhelmed and more confident moving forward.
